Principal – Su Grimmer
As a senior player in the television and radio industry in Toronto for over 25 years, Su Grimmer came to her senses while shoveling her driveway during a blizzard. She pulled up stakes and moved to the west coast…and she is never going back!
Having spent her senior executive management career in marketing, sales and communications for organizations such as CanWest Global Communications , YTV Canada Inc., (now part of Corus Entertainment) and AllianceAtlantis Communications, Su developed a broad scope of management expertise. These include strategic marketing and sales, brand management, corporate communications, facilitation and media partnering and event marketing.
As one of the founders of YTV Su held the position of VP Sales. In the media industry press, Grimmer was often referred to as the “Warrior Princess of Specialty TV.” As an integral member of a number of specialty TV start-up teams, Su had a hand in helping to launch Life Network (now Slice TV), Teletoon, Treehouse TV, HGTV Canada and The Food Network Canada.
In 1997, Grimmer started Flycatcher Communications Inc. Her multi-dimensional background has allowed her to successfully apply a diverse knowledge base and unique skill-set to many industries and a varied client list.
A master of “launch-it, fix-it, or take it to the next level” Grimmer helps her clients to find their niche and tell their corporate stories, articulate their points of difference, define their selling propositions and then assists them in “spreading the word” in creative ways.
Su is a top-notch facilitator and “creative ideas juice extractor.” She is also an accomplished public speaker and crackerjack creative and corporate writer. Her clients refer to her as the “ultimate connector” and her friends call her “Madama Impresario.”
A hardcore “foodie” and lover of anything fermented from a grape, Su augments these two passions by writing about them. She is a published food and travel writer and unaccredited chef of her own cuisine. Bring her good pinot noir and chances are you’ll be asked to stay for dinner.
